PROJECT 3

 RESEARCH

We are very keen to encourage local residents to carry out their own pieces of research, be it about their family, their house, local industry, shop or individual. Two members are currently carrying out research on AJ Nicholson who established a coat manufacturing company on Sutton Road. If you would like to join this project or even tell us about your own work, don’t hesitate to contact us. An opportunity to present any local history findings comes up at the end of each year.

CURRENT PROJECTS 2016

We would like your stories and photographs!

PROJECT 2

 CAMP VIEW ROAD

One of our members is busy compiling a history of Camp View Road as is carrying out interviews, collecting images and examining local records.  We hope that her work will feature next year in the ‘Right Up Our Street’ series.

Cambridge Road has a varied history which deserves to be recorded. We are reaching out to all former and current Cambridge Road residents to gather evidence such as photographs, film, documents and memories.  (Printed contributions will be scanned and returned to their owners.) In 2016, this material will form the basis of an exhibition, guided walk, spoken presentation and possibly a booklet. The exhibition will be on show at the Fleetville Festival , Larks in the Parks and the St Albans Local History Network conference in 2016.  If you would like to take an active part in this project, please contact us.
